BRAND

Dee Burton was a semi-finalist of the Redress Design Award (formerly the EcoChic Design Award) 2011. She launched her brand, Leelaloom Handwoven, in 2020.  Passionate about slow fashion, the brand’s core products are traditional baby slings and wraps with multiple wearing possibilities. Small production runs ensure minimal wastage and every bit of fabric is used in production. Leelaloom Handwoven uses traditional methods such as plants, roots, indigo, and mud to dye their fabric yarns, and focuses on creating durable long-lasting products. They support local Thai artisan weaver groups, working to provide financial stability for the communities they do business with. Dee holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Creative Arts from Chulalongkorn University, Thailand, and became a certified babywearing consultant in 2020 from the School of Babywearing, UK

“We have a responsibility to choose to be more sustainable and find more ways to be environmentally friendly when designing, developing and manufacturing our products. In addition to taking care of our environment, we have a moral responsibility to look after our artisans and to create a positive impact for the people we work with and for the people who buy our products.” - Dee Burton
