Redress Design Award 2022 FINALIST

Bio

Drina Marco is a finalist of the Redress Design Award 2022. She holds an MA in Interdisciplinary Arts from SUR School at University Carlos III of Madrid and a BA in Fashion Design from LCI Barcelona.

“My principal aim as a sustainable designer is to create a new language in fashion that is more simple and gentle with people, communicating different ways to relate our bodies with our clothes, and generating a closer link with what we wear.” – Drina Marco

redress Design Award Collection

Drina’s Redress Design Award collection, ‘monda’, is named for the Spanish word meaning ‘fruit peel’ or ‘skin’, with the designs adapting their shape to the body like external layers of skin. Made to fit any size and transform over time, the garments are designed with longevity and recyclability in mind. Most of the collection is made with cotton from industrial hotel laundries, which are naturally dyed using vegetable waste. Drina also digitally prints on deadstock fabric, combining patterns to create simple, comfortable, and stylish garments that can be adapted for many situations.
