Lucy Mitchell is a semi-finalist of the Redress Design Award 2022. She holds a BA in Fashion Design from Edinburgh College of Art.

Lucy’s Redress Design Award collection, ‘Resurrecting the T-shirt’, revitalises old T-shirts with a sense of luxury, elegance, and sentimental value. By naturally dyeing with pomegranate rind and iron for green to cover up the stains, discolouration, and tears from the waste of charity shops, and incorporating cutting scraps from each garment back into the collection, Lucy embraces the way that the unpredictability of the source material emphasises the uniqueness of each piece.
