redress Design Award Collection
Ines’ Redress Design Award collection, ‘Les cancres’, celebrates rebellion and curiosity against the confines of traditional schooling. The collection is inspired by early 20th-century school uniforms, mixing colours and fabrics to symbolise the rejection of uniformity and embrace of individuality. The looks include a reconstructed secondhand wool sweater, plus a reversible vest, shirts, and dress made from damaged men’s shirts. Designing for low waste, a sports shirt bears a screen-printed design made with water-based ink, while a zero-waste hat is folded from secondhand fabrics like origami.
