2012 Hong Kong

2012 Hong kong Overview

Our second Hong Kong competition cycle received deepened support and greater interest from fashion designers, academic institutions, private sector and the media. We expanded our core educational work to include multiple lectures, a design academy, the publication of a sustainable fashion design booklet and the early start of our online video tutorials. In addition, we organised a panel discussion at HKTDC Fashion Week between leading industry experts about reducing textile waste. Our grand final fashion show took place at Hong Kong Fashion Week to an audience of 400 industry representatives. We then held a second fashion show featuring our 2011 alumni, who have since launched or further developed their own sustainable labels. The prizes were to design a sustainable collection for Esprit; to go on a cultural exchange trip to London in partnership with the British Council; and to go on an educational trip to Shanghai.
