Bio

Tsang Fan Yu was a finalist of Redress Design Award (formerly the EcoChic Design Award) 2015/16. He is currently laying the foundations to launch his namesake sustainable fashion brand, TSANGFANYU, which will offer ready-to-wear menswear and accessories. 

Fan Yu’s talent has been recognised internationally.In 2015, he won the Best Accessories Design Award in the Hong Kong Designers’ Contest. He was also the finalist of 2015 Young Designers' Contest in Contemporary Day-wear Group and the winner of Best Accessories Design Award. As a result he collaborated with i.t.’s local fashion label - 5cm, taking his winning collection to New York Fashion Week. He holds a Fashion Design degree from The Hong Kong Polytechnic University and a Social Sciences degree from City University of Hong Kong.

REdress Design Award Collection

For his Redress Design Awards (formerly the EcoChic Design Award)collection, Fan Yu was inspired by Zen philosophy. He combined zero-waste and up-cycling design techniques using surplus textiles, including organic hemp blends and organic pineapple textiles, sourced from factories in Hong Kong, Mainland China and the Philippines.
