The Textile Heritage to Techstyle journey took the Finalists to The Mills to learn about Hong Kong’s textile manufacturing legacy and the region’s position as a key textile and garment manufacturing hub in the 1950s. They learned about the recent restoration of The Mills which transformed the heritage site into a centre of innovation, business incubation, experiential retail and culture with a focus on fashion and textiles. They had the opportunity to learn about one of the key pillars of The Mills - The Mills Fabrica - which focuses on ‘techstyle’ incubation and new technologies that are currently transforming the industry globally.
