redress Design Award Collection

For her competition collection ‘The Celebration of Imperfection’, Holam explores the inherently wasteful wedding dress industry with its intensive production process and material use for a one-time wear. She uses the reconstruction technique to transform these symbolic items of beauty, combining them with secondhand clothing and cut-and-sew waste to create zero-waste designs that include detachable embellishments which encourage self styling for increased wear options.
