Application Checklist

 

REDRESS DESIGN AWARD 2023 APPLICATION CHECKLIST

 

 Your application should be submitted via the competition online application system and the following documents must be submitted:

  • All documents are to be presented in (or translated to) English, Traditional Chinese or Simplified Chinese. No other language will be accepted.

  • All competition artwork must be original creations designed by the applicant themselves, and must not have been previously shown in the public domain or any social media.

  • Each artwork submitted as part of your application must have a file size less than 1MB and in .jpg or .png format (we recommend the photos’ pixels per inch (ppi) should not exceed 72 ppi).

 

1. Evidence of eligibility

A recent headshot of you on a plain background

A copy of valid photo ID, passport, visa, or residence permit in your country of residence, showing your date of birth

2. Proof of design experience

2.1

3 x photos of recent original finished garments from your portfolio to demonstrate your skills and experience as a fashion designer

3. Competition Designs

3.1

1 x mood board illustrating the concept, inspiration and colour-theme of your collection

3 x ready-to-wear outfit illustrations

3.3

3 x ready-to-wear outfit technical drawings (minimum front side). You must clearly indicate how both the sustainable design technique(s), and 'waste' textiles are being applied to the outfits on the technical drawings.

All zero-waste patterns with exact measurements of patterns (only applicable if you are using zero-waste technique for your outfits)

4. Information about your textile selection

4.1

A photo of the original, uncut and unaltered textile for each ‘waste’ textiles

Proof of minimum 50% of regenerated content in fabric composition for each textile created from waste that you selected.

Proof of textile certification or textile standard for the textile created from waste that you selected. (optional)

Answered all 8 questions regarding the sustainable design strategies used in your collection.
