On November 3, Redress proudly showcased winning designs from our Redress Design Award, the world’s largest sustainable fashion design competition, at Global Fashion Agenda’s much anticipated Global Fashion Summit: Singapore Edition 2022.

Summit visitors were invited to virtually ‘try on’ the outfits with AR Snapchat filters, and Redress Events Director Matthieu Amelin and Board Director Ostiane Goh-Livorness were on hand to answer questions. The virtual outfits represent an acceleration to digitalisation within the fashion industry, foreseen by 76% of the international sourcing community with the benefit of minimising waste, such as by reducing the need to create physical garment samples at the design stage.*

It’s the first time this leading international forum for sustainability in fashion has left their flagship Copenhagen homebase, yet the event was as insightful as ever, with a focus on the Asia region and an array of content including panel discussions, masterclasses, and practical case study presentations.

With the theme ‘Alliances For a New Era’, the summit encouraged the industry to form alliances between manufacturers, suppliers and other players and elevated diverse voices to explore how the industry can collaborate to reduce fashion’s negative social and environmental impacts and work towards a net positive fashion industry.

As for our Redress Design Award finalists, competing is just the beginning of a lifelong journey in their sustainable fashion careers. In addition to this significant showcase in Singapore, our Redress Design Award Alumni Network of previous semi-finalists and finalists are supported with a plethora of career-enhancing opportunities, including exclusive retail collaborations and networking events with industry professionals.
