Bio

Natalie Wan was recognised as a Rising Talent of the Redress Design Award 2022. Her collection concept ‘Phoenix’ illustrated the idea of rebirth through upcycling silk and other recycled materials, including a kimono, to create new garments.

For the Redress Design Award, Natalie demonstrated strength in designing interesting silhouettes, mixing different textures, using different techniques to hide the defects of waste textiles, thinking about customisation, and fully fashioned knitting. She is interested in developing further in whole garment knitting and growing her knowledge on new technology and fibres.
