Pavneet Kaur was the People’s Choice winner of the Redress Design Award 2023. She holds a Postgraduate Diploma in Fashion Design from Pearl Academy, India.

redress Design Award Collection

Pavneet’s Redress Design Award collection, ‘EUTOPIA’, is inspired by the solarpunk movement, which imagines visually bright ecological utopias. Her collection upcycles discarded turbans from Sikh men and cut-and-sew waste patched and appliquéd together, creating classic silhouettes that will remain in style and promote longevity as wardrobe staples. The material from the turbans, made of cotton and silk, are double- and triple-layered for durability. Through her collection, Pavneet hopes to give fair employment opportunities to local expert artisans and preserve the arts and crafts heritage of her native India.
