Wen Pan

Redress Design Award 2015/16 Finalist

Bio

After participating in the Redress Design Award 2015/16, Wen spent time between UK and Mainland China developing her brand, Wen Pan, which she officially launched in 2017 in the UK, where she is now based. In developing each collection of womenswear, Wen uses a majority of natural, organic fibres and is strictly leather and fur-free. In future collections she hopes to incorporate reconstruction techniques for custom pieces.

Wen holds a Fashion Design Womenswear degree at Central Saint Martins in the UK. She has previously interned for McQ by Alexander McQueen and Christopher Kane.

It pains me to see people endlessly emitting industrial waste for the pursuit of superficial vanity whilst harming animals and plants in the process. – Pan Wen

Redress Design Award Collection

For her Redress Design Award (formerly the EcoChic Design Award) 2015/16 collection, Wen was inspired by the contrast between the luxurious lives of British nobility and their brutal leisure activity of hunting. She up-cycled surplus and secondhand textiles, sourced from markets in Mainland China.
