Candle Ray Torreverde was Runner-up Prize winner of the Redress Design Award 2017. The same year he founded his sustainable brand, CANDLE RAY, in 2017 with a debut at Manila Fashion Festival showcasing his signature modern architecture-influenced designs. Made-to-order pieces are made from up-cycled and reconstructed materials and incorporate zero-waste design methods. Candle holds a degree in Fashion Design and Marketing from SoFA Design Institute in the Philippines.

Redress Design Award Collection

For his Redress Design Award collection (formerly the EcoChic Design Award), Candle applied the design techniques of up-cycling and reconstruction along with the use of natural dyes to transform secondhand textiles and clothes. His drew inspiration from the chaos brought about by sea storms.
