Congratulations to Redress for successfully organising the Redress Design Award 2022.

Being one of the world’s largest sustainable fashion design competitions, the annual Redress Design Award has been driving the growth and people’s consciousness towards a circular fashion system in the past 12 cycles since 2011, while demonstrating fashion designers’ creativity.

Create Hong Kong (CreateHK) of the Government of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region is delighted to be the lead sponsor of the Redress Design Award again, and we are grateful for Redress’ dedication to creating a unique platform to promote sustainable design theories and techniques among up-and-coming fashion designers around the world through the sustainable fashion design competition, the “Rising Talents Programme” which provides mentorships and alumni supports and the “Redress Academy” with multilingual online resources of knowledge that is needed in the fast-growing circular fashion community.

The Redress Design Award 2022 received applications from 47 countries and regions, including the first-time applications from Guatemala, Myanmar, Rwanda, and Slovakia. This demonstrates the international fashion industry’s increasing awareness of zero-waste and upcycling.

Starting from 1 July 2022, CreateHK is under the new Culture, Sports and Tourism Bureau. While there is more room for collaboration among the different sectors under the new Bureau, we will still continue to work closely with the trade to raise the international profiles of our fashion sector.
