We gathered Hong Kong based Redress Design Award alumni together on 10th June for an evening of lively networking with a selection of key professionals from the fashion and retail business communities. An annual event on the Redress Design Award calendar, this year the Alumni Networking Event took place at SO Coffee & Gin in the textile hub of Hong Kong (and Redress’ own hood), Sham Shui Po. Our industry friends, from organisations such as Hong Kong Design Centre and Designerooms, provided valuable advice and shared their experiences working in sustainable fashion with local alumni including Janus Ha, Chan Meiyan, Lau Sin Yi, Kazef Tang, Jesse Lee, and Natalie Wong.

Christine Yu from sustainable brand AndAll shared with us, “As co-founders of AndAll and venture builders in sustainable fashion, we love to support talent in this space. It was energising to meet with alumni like Janus, who is doing exciting things with her own sustainable fashion brand.” Our alumna Chan Meiyan also shared, “The event has enabled me to connect with Hong Kong fashion professionals and share our insights and experiences in sustainable fashion, as well as get to know Hong Kong local brands.”

This event forms part of our work to provide continued support to the Redress Design Award Alumni, a rich pool of talent who have been finalists or semi-finalists of the competition since its inception. We work to nurture this group of conscious future fashion leaders and provide opportunities for collaboration and support from industry as they journey into their careers in sustainable fashion.
