Alumni showcase at SS23 Shenzhen Fashion Week

In partnership with the Shenzhen Garment Industry Association (SGIA), Redress recently showcased at Shenzhen Fashion Week for the first time, presenting eight emerging sustainable brands from our Redress Design Award alumni at various events for SS23.

Sustainability is a growing focus in key fashion events in the Greater Bay Area, with Shenzhen Fashion Week committed to carbon neutral consumption in both its output and displays. Each of our alumni had five of their sustainable designs in the fashion show. Catch the thrill by rewatching it here, and explore the looks in the photo gallery below.

Following the alumni showcase, their looks were featured in a Sustainable Fashion Design Exhibition at the trendy Sparkland venue in Shenzhen. Our Director of Partnerships, Hannah Lane, also shared on “Why skilling up for low-impact design is critical for the next generation of fashion” at the Sustainable Fashion Forum. Chinese readers can check out the forum summary here.

The Shenzhen show follows the presentation of twelve alumni brands who showcased in Hong Kong for the Redress Design Award 2022 runway show and exhibition, and at CENTRESTAGE. With such large-scale events to support the development of our alumni, 2022 marks the biggest year yet for the Redress Design Award Alumni Network, our community of previous finalists and semi-finalists whom we support with ongoing career opportunities.
